Cupcake Bakeshop

I'm a big fan of cupcakes and muffins because they strike exactly the right balance between skill, effort, and pay-off. They can be complicated enough and interesting enough flavour combinations that you feel like you've really achieved something by making them, but they're easy enough that someone lazy (re: ME) can whip some up in an hour tops. Also, they are delicious.

Cupcake Bakeshop is awesome because these recipes are nuts. Basil Cream and Mint Cream Cupcakes with Raspberry Mousse Frosting? Sweet Corn, Maple, and Bacon Cupcakes? Eggnog Cupcakes with Bourbon Caramel Cream Cheese Frosting? Yeah. The recipes aren't all perfect (often a little too sweet for me), but they're actually inspiring, which is what takes a food site from something I'll glance at occasionally to something where I want to work my way through every recipe it's got.
