Aug. 3rd, 2006 06:22 pmSome of you may not know (in fact, most of you will not know as I've never mentioned this in my livejournal) that I'm taking a 2-3 week trip to Ireland at the end of August.
I'm very excited, of course, but more importantly I am busy, busy trying to make sure I'll have everything I need when I go.
And I just realized today that I don't have everything I need.
I've got nothing to read.
Thus, I'm soliciting book recommendations from all you people out there on the Internets. What should I be reading? Which of your absolute favourite books are you horrified and dismayed that I have never heard of?
[Aside: I will read pretty much anything, just so you know. Sci fi, fantasy, historical fiction, capital-f fiction, mysteries, thrillers, etc etc. Hell, non-fiction. I think the only thing which I turn up my nose at is first person narratives, and even with that I'll break the rules if it comes with strong fangirling (or if its a potboiler, because lord knows I love a potboiler.)]
