Nov. 5th, 2005 05:46 pmDid anyone else look at the Globe's poll numbers (31% Conservative, 28% Liberal, 20% NDP) this morning and just break down into fits of nervous giggles when trying to picture a Conservative minority government?
In my opinion, the Liberals function as is only 'cause they share enough common ground with the NDP and the Bloc (when you ignore the Liberals = Federalism thingy) to get by on certain things, but I can't picture where the Conservatives would compromise to stay in power. The Bloc'll side with them to get the Liberals out of power, sure, but that's what the Bloc does no matter who the government is. And the idea of an NDP/Conservative alliance is...well, do I really have to complete that sentence?
("Right, so I was thinking we could all vote on this bill and --"
"No thank you, Stephen."
"But look it makes perfect sense if you --"
"Nous avons dit non, Stephen."
"Honestly, you guys, I'm prime --"
"Really, shut up, Harper.")
Anyone have thoughts on how Harper sees this working? Like, at all?

In other news, there is a damn good reason why I don't usually write MWPP fic. And this reason would be my compulsive belief that MWPP fic must include all seven years. At last count: two down, five to go.
I'm also more than amused with my
joint_gifts prompt. Although I'm well aware that the finished product is almost certainly not going to be what the requestee expected.
