Aug. 2nd, 2005 07:29 pmI've been a bad f-lister recently. I know it, I know it. I haven't been commenting on anything, and I haven't even been very amusing to make up for it.
I've just been busy.
With stuff.
Actually, with avoiding stuff. I got swept up in the annual July Writer's Block, but right on schedule I seem to be gearing up for the (also annual) August Write Constantly. Generally this means I'll have something actually finished by late October. If precedent holds.
I got signed up for my second year courses today (although that's misleading as I'm taking two first year courses -- perhaps I should have said 'the courses I'm taking in second year' -- anyway). My schedules for those who are interested (ie.
elira and maybe
crudmonkey) are here and here (fall and spring, respectively). Let me know if we have any spare time in common, will you?
I also got offered a job as a kind of glorified tutor recently. For Film Studies 1000. After I stopped laughing, I decided I'm not taking it (despite the nice pay) because I still don't know how I passed that course and so I'm not sure if I could be any help to anyone else (and I also maintain that it isn't a real course anyway [says the girl taking 'Women in Literature']). But it was very flattering to be asked.
Let's see. I'm sure I had more news. Oh yes, I've completed work on the Myr'l Island soundtrack for those of you whom that interests. It's actually the most cohesive one so far, and I am very pleased. I'm thinking I'll bring a copy on the Cottage Trip (assuming the drive is long enough to warrant it...Susan?), so I can get input from y'all before it goes to print.
Ergh. I think that's all I had to say, other than I'm sorry for being so remiss. I've been paying attention to all of you even if I haven't been letting you know. I'll try to do better. :)
(I'm also feeling really guilty about the flippant answer I gave
saffronlie when she asked me about HBP and gender roles, so I think an rant essay may be in the making there. Sorry!)
