It's a bizarre collision of worlds that's seen both Atton Rand and Sayid rise to the forefront of my affections at more or less the same time. And I know most of you out there will either understand one side or the other of that thought and not really get the connection, so let me cut to the chase by saying I'm not entirely sure I want to know what it says about me (other than that I'm fickle – raise your hand if you didn't know that already).

I don't actually plan to say much about Sayid past this point (except "concealed gun, fire detector, rain, omghot" which should sum up my position concisely), so let's cut for what is probably an unpopular opinion.
