ZOMG. GENIUS. The women in Tay John don't get raped because Howard O'Hagan is a mysoginist! They get raped because it is symbolic of the EUROPEAN RAPE OF THE LAND AND THE ENCROACHMENT OF WHITE SETTLERS INTO THE CANADIAN WEST.

I think my livejournaling goes up in proportion to how dumb the essay I'm writing is.
